Terms of Service

1. Agreement and scope

These Terms of Service ("Terms") apply to the Zapjobs.ai website and web dashboard, the Zapjobs.ai Chrome browser extension, and the APIs and backend that support them (together, the "Service"). By accessing or using any part of the Service, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

"User," "you," and "your" refer to you. "User Content" means content you submit to the Service, including your resume, profile data, job and application data, and form content you submit via the extension. "Account" means your Zapjobs.ai account. "Plan" and "Subscription" refer to the free or paid plan you use, as described on our pricing page.

2. Description of the Service

Zapjobs.ai helps you fill job application forms using your resume and track your job search. The Service consists of:

• Web app: Account and profile management, resume upload and storage, dashboard for viewing and managing job applications and history, billing and subscription management, and account settings (including account deletion). Usage limits and plan features are described on the Pricing page and in the product; we may enforce limits (e.g., applications per month) in accordance with your Plan.
• Chrome extension: A single-purpose tool to auto-fill job application forms and track your job search using your saved resume and profile. It includes form extraction and auto-fill, cover letter generation and upload, and current job context. The extension requires you to sign in via the web app and uses the same Account and data.
• Together: One Account is used for both the web app and the extension. Your resume, applications, and profile are shared between them to provide the Service. We may change or discontinue features with reasonable notice where feasible.

3. Account and eligibility

You must be at least 16 years old and able to form a binding contract to use the Service. You are responsible for keeping your account credentials secure and for all activity under your Account. You must provide accurate information when signing up.

Use of the extension is subject to these Terms and, where applicable, the Chrome Web Store terms and your browser's policies. You must have an Account to use extension features that require sign-in.

4. Extension-specific terms

You agree to use the extension only for your own lawful job applications. You may not use it to access or fill forms on behalf of others without authorization, or to circumvent any employer's or third party's systems or terms.

You are responsible for reviewing and verifying any auto-filled or generated content (e.g., answers, cover letters) before submitting to employers. We do not guarantee that such content will be accurate or suitable for any particular employer or application.

You may not use the extension to read, collect, or transmit data from web pages except in the manner we describe (e.g., when you trigger the auto-fill feature on a job application page). You must comply with our Privacy Policy and any in-extension disclosures.

The extension may be updated or discontinued. We may cease distribution or compatibility with certain browsers or sites. Your use remains subject to these Terms until you uninstall or we terminate your access.

5. Acceptable use

You agree to use the Service only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You may not:

• Misuse or attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service or others' accounts.
• Use the Service to violate any law or third-party rights.
• Scrape or automate access in ways we do not permit.
• Use the Service to send spam or malicious content.
• Circumvent usage limits, billing, or access controls.
• Use the Service in a way that could harm us, other users, or third parties.

We may suspend or terminate your access for violations and take other steps we deem appropriate.

6. Your content

You retain ownership of User Content. You grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use, store, process, and display User Content as necessary to provide and improve the Service (including generating answers and cover letters, storing applications, and syncing between the web app and extension).

You represent that you have the right to provide User Content and that it does not violate any law or third-party rights. We do not use User Content for marketing or to train general-purpose AI models unrelated to providing the Service, and we do not sell it.

7. Intellectual property

We (or our licensors) own the Service, including the software, design, branding, and documentation. You may not copy, modify, reverse engineer, or create derivative works of the Service except as we explicitly allow. No implied license is granted beyond use of the Service in accordance with these Terms.

8. Payment and subscription

Plans: Free and Pro (or other) plans are described on the Pricing page. Features and limits (e.g., applications per month, resume uploads, cover letter features) are as stated there and in the product; we may enforce them in accordance with our systems.

Billing: Paid plans are billed via our designated payment provider (e.g., Stripe). Fees are in the currency and interval shown at sign-up or on the Pricing page. By subscribing, you authorize us to charge the payment method on file.

Renewal and cancellation: Subscriptions renew automatically unless you cancel before the end of the current period. You may cancel via the dashboard or the payment provider's portal. Cancellation stops future charges; we do not refund fees for the current period except as required by law or as we otherwise state.

Price changes: We may change pricing for future billing periods with advance notice (e.g., email or in-product). Continued use after the change constitutes acceptance.

Taxes: Prices exclude applicable taxes unless stated; you are responsible for any taxes where required by law.

9. Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available." We disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose. We do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure.

We do not guarantee that auto-filled or AI-generated content (e.g., answers, cover letters) will be accurate, complete, or suitable for any employer or application. You are responsible for reviewing and approving all content before submission. Use of the extension on third-party websites is at your own risk; we are not responsible for those sites' terms, policies, or practices.

10. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for loss of profits, data, or use, arising from your use of the Service (including the web app and extension).

Our total liability for any claims arising from or related to the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve (12) months before the claim (or zero if you have not paid us). Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations; where prohibited, our liability is limited to the maximum permitted by law.

11. Termination

By you: You may stop using the Service and close your Account at any time (e.g., via account settings, including the option to delete your account). Data handling on termination is described in our Privacy Policy.

By us: We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service (web and/or extension) for violation of these Terms, non-payment, or any other reason we deem appropriate. If we discontinue the extension or your access to it, you may uninstall it; these Terms still apply to the extent of any prior use.

Effect: On termination, your right to use the Service ends. Provisions that by their nature should survive (e.g., disclaimers, limitation of liability, the license you granted for past processing, dispute resolution, governing law) survive termination.

12. Changes to the Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will post the updated Terms on this page and update the "Last updated" date. Material changes may be communicated by email or in-product notice where required or appropriate. Continued use of the Service (web or extension) after the effective date of changes constitutes acceptance. If you do not agree, you must stop using the Service and close your Account.

13. General

• Entire agreement: These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy and any other policies we reference, constitute the entire agreement between you and Zapjobs.ai regarding the Service.
• Severability: If any provision is held invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in effect.
• No waiver: Our failure to enforce any right does not waive that right.
• Assignment: You may not assign these Terms; we may assign them in connection with a merger, sale, or transfer of the Service.
• Governing law: These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the State of Delaware, without regard to conflict of laws. Any dispute shall be resolved in the courts of Delaware, except where prohibited by law.
